Belle Mare Plage Hotel
Newly renovated as of 1 November 2002, this vast, spectacular resort from Hotels Constance is set in a private realm of harmony and beauty along one of the most spectacular beaches on the island. Built in the typical Mauritian style, Belle Mare Plage is set in a tropical garden in the midst of a park. Between the glittering blue green Indian Ocean and the luxuriant natural setting, Belle Mare Plage offers its guests an unequalled array of amenities, activities, temptingly delicious cuisines and the utmost comfort of its accommodations. No matter what the taste or interest, there is an entrancing holiday awaiting at Belle Mare Plage.
Internationally renowned as one of the finest and most complete sporting complexes, Belle Mare Plage offers a selection of activities for both the amateur and the professional. The 2 championship golf courses challenge players of every caliber and are the first of its kind in Mauritius. “The Legend” boasts its landmark 17th hole which provides an exotic vista from the tee across the bay encircling the island green situated on an outcrop of volcanic rock. It’s home to “The Mauritius Open”, and formerly to the now-discontinued “Johnnie Walker Classic.” It is also the host course for “The PGA of Mauritius,” affiliated to The PGA of Africa. The Course record belongs to Mike McLean (UK) with 62 (Ten under Par) established in Dec. 95. And, opening in November, 2002, “The Links” was designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Allis.
Tennis playing, lessons and clinics take place on four clay courts. There’s an air conditioned squash court, jogging path, and complete fitness center. The guest can choose wind surfing, water-skiing, hobie cat sailing from a long list of water sports, all in the coral reef protected lagoon.
At Belle Mare Plage each meal is an inspired celebration. The freshest, most aromatic ingredients are artfully prepared, then presented by attentive waiters. Each of the four restaurants has its own style and character and all subscribe to the resort’s high standards.
